Air filters are key components for the efficient operation of engines. Air filters made of different materials vary in aspects such as filtration efficiency, service life, and operating costs. The following are common types of commercial vehicle air filters and their advantages and disadvantages:
Paper filter element
Advantages: good filtering effect, low cost, and convenient replacement
Disadvantages: disposable, paper is prone to getting damp, and its dust - holding capacity is limited
Oil-immersed filter element
Advantages: large dust capacity and reusable
Disadvantages: poor filtering effect, complex maintenance, large volume, and relatively heavy
Fiber filter element
Advantages: good breathability, can be washed and reused multiple times, and has a long lifespan
Disadvantages: high cost, high maintenance (special cleaning tools need to be purchased), and insufficient ability to filter fine particles
Nanofiber filter element
Advantages: efficient filtration, large dust capacity, and relatively long service life.
Disadvantages: high cost and low popularity
It is recommended to choose paper filters, as their filtration effect and cost are relatively low.
